Ideas for My Own Wedding Dress

Like most young women, I have been dreaming of my wedding since I was a little girl; I’d even say I’ve even been planning it since I was 10.  Though if you ask my grandpa, he’d say it started well before that.  So, keeping this mind and especially since I’ve found THE ONE,  I have some definite ideas of what I want for my big day, especially when it comes to my dress!

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

I have always been a big fan of the Cinderella ballgown look, like this one….

Vera Wang - ballgown with basque waist

….but my future husband can’t stand it.  He’d prefer something that shows more of my figure.  So, I’ve been trying to find a compromise for us. This is what I’ve come up with so far….

Sophia Tolli - Andrea in blush - assymmetrical bodice with sweetheart neckline, tulle skirt

Sophia Tolli – Andrea in blush

This one still has the look of the ballgown, but the asymmetrical design shows more curves with the partially dropped waist line.  And I still get to keep my tulle skirt.  🙂  Also I love the blush bodice, since it may be difficult to get my guys in pink.

Maggie Sottero - Claudette - dropped waist ballgown - strapless sweetheart neckline

This one has the same idea as the previous, but without the asymmetrical bodice, and is a lot more traditional in its color.

White by Vera Wang - ballet ombre tulle ballgown - pickup skirt

Though I’m not sure of the furture Mr.’s opinion, this dress is awesome for a few reasons.  First, it’s a tulle ballgown.  Second, it’s by Vera Wang (his tux will be Vera Wang, and my ring may also be Vera Wang.  So it’d be cool to keep the theme going).  Third, if we have a spring wedding, I want pink and yellow for our wedding colors, and this would be a great compromise for the guys, since I don’t want them in the same color as me.

David Tutera for Mon Cheri - Macaria - satin, sweetheart neckline, cap sleeves, trumpet bottom

He really likes this one – probably because it has more of a trumpet skirt, instead of just being dropped.  He also really likes the cap sleeves (though I don’t.  I’ve always wanted a strapless gown.)

Sophia Tolli - Carlotta - sweetheart neckline, dropped waist, tulle skirt

I love this one, AND it has his seal of approval.  I love the fullness of the ballgown.  He likes the dropped waist, and we both LOVE the sweetheart neckline.
